Chief Product Officer
Scott McKenzie is the Chief Product Officer at automotiveMastermind (Mastermind), where he oversees the development and execution of the company’s product strategy and initiatives. He is responsible for the teams focused on designing, positioning, and delivering best-in-class products.
McKenzie has spent his career focused on business process improvement and strategic consulting with senior management teams, most often in partnership with high-growth enterprise software companies.
McKenzie began his career at Mastermind as Vice President of Operations and Strategy where he worked to build trust and increase performance across the organization through the introduction of operational best practices. Some example strategic implementations include companywide forecasting, compensation and territory plans, a strategic planning & budgeting process, a subscription-based pricing and packaging model and revised go-to-market strategy.
Prior to joining Mastermind, McKenzie worked at JMI Equity, an enterprise-software focused private equity firm. Initially focused on sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, he later partnered with management teams from the fund’s existing portfolio of companies to support various value creation initiatives as an Associate Director. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions (due diligence, integrations, sell-side support), go-to-market strategy (compensation & territory planning, pricing & packaging design, customer health assessments), and organizational health (budgeting & strategic planning, performance management, corporate reporting, org design).
He holds a master’s degree from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, and both a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and a certificate in film from Duke University. McKenzie joined Mastermind in February 2017 and works out of the New York City headquarters.
